Going Back to Basics

Happy New Year!

One of my resolutions this year is to be more diligent about posting on the blog. So here we go....

I've decided to have a posting schedule. Having a schedule keeps me in check and will help me to post more. And it will help to boost the amount of readers to my blog, (as of late, I only have 2 readers to my blog). The posting schedule is pretty simple - I post 3 times a week and highlight yarn, products, books and projects (Monday - yarn, Wednesday - products, and Friday - books). I also will be doing some giveaways when there is a bit more traffic to the blog. i'm thinking this will work out!

So for the first post of the new year and Monday I've picked to highlight Plymouth Yarn's Jeannee.

I have had many opportunities to knit and crochet with this yarn and I absolutely love it! It's got a great price point and because it's so affordable you can buy a lot of it. Jeannee has great drape and is soft to the hand. It's a cotton/acrylic blend and is machine washable and dryable. Each skein is about 111 yards. Plymouth offers Jeannee in DK, Worsted and Chunky weight in a lot of great colors. It's good for beginning knitters and crocheters as well as the seasoned veterans.

My current project with Jeannee is a pattern out of Rowan. Rowan has been around for ages. Ask any knitter and they will tell you that they have knitted a few items from one of their beautiful books. Rowan yarns are exceptional, but a bit pricey when you want to do a pattern requiring a lot of yarn. Since I chose one of those patterns, I am using Jeannee Worsted weight in Cream 0008.
You have to agree, it's a fabulous pattern. I'm so excited to get it done, hopefully by March...

So there you have it. First post of 2011 and many more to come! See you on Wednesday for my product highlight of a gift I got for Christmas from my sister, Tran!

Another year comes to an end....

Even though 2010 is coming to an end, the knitting must go on! It has been a busy year with lots of projects. The coming year will be filled with lots of hand knitted happiness. I'm taking on a few fundraising projects to help raise money for my Tanzania trip in November. (You can check out the blog)

So check back for updates and pictures! I need to be more diligent about posting....

Happy New Year!!!!
