The next year is looking busy.....

So Christmas is done and it was great! Not time to prepare for 2010.....

My plan to make a name for myself in the knitting world is to knit and blog diligently (I think that's how you spell it). How am I going to do this?

Well ----

- Continue to be available as a "Knit-for-Hire"
- Work on website and promotion
- Work on original designs

And the big project for 2010: Knit a hat a day, give them away and blog about it.

I figured that I can make a hat or beanie in about 2 to 3 hours (depending on design) and if Julie Powell can blog about cooking Julia Child's book, I can knit my way through the year. I will also post some of the patterns on the blog. Am I crazy? Will people follow what I'm doing?

So starting the first of January I will make a beanie and blog about it. Who will it be for? I have no idea..... Stay tuned.....

Until then - Have a safe holiday season!

I stumbled across this while looking for a job....

I am currently looking for a job in the design field and was going through various sites to do so. I came scross this one from craigslist.com and thought it was interesting. I guess you can post just about anything on that site.

When accepted, the candidate continues on training. Once one becomes an “Auror trainee” they will be taught one of the following:

New logo!!!!

Thanks to Anthony, I have a new logo! Apparently- the teacup didn't make sense to anyone else but me, so I asked him to change it. Now there's no mistaking what I do!

Stay tuned for more updates after the holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Fall is here!!!!!

I love autumn! The crisp nights, the warm homes, the smell of baking..... and the coziness of knitting!

I have a long list of beanies to knit and I'm excited about the street team! It takes about 3 hours for me to knit a beanie and I have about 25 I need to knit. Plus the other projects I have to do before the holidays:

- Mom's Owl Sweater for Christmas
- Camp ReCreation Hats and Scarves along with baskets
- 2 beanies for Anthony
- My white sweater
- Promotion stuff for noe
- etc. etc. etc......

Lots to do, so little time to do it! Don't Panic!

OMG it's soooo cute!

I finished a beanie for a friend at work who has a new grandson named Mako. So I made the beanie with blue and grey and I duplicate stitched a shark on it (because Mako is a type of shark). I think it turned out so cute! I'm really getting the hang of duplicate stitching.

On a more serious note: 20 beanies, 2 down, 18 more to go! And I still have promo kits to put together!

noe street team beanie!

I finished the first beanie! It's black with pea-green accent. I think it's a pretty decent, non-offensive, basic beanie that anyone can wear.

So --- who's in?

Here we go again.....

I was working on a sweater that I wanted to wear to opening day of "Where the Wild Things Are". I was soo excited about it until I realized that my knitting and my purling are 2 completely different gauges!!!!!

So I frogged and I'm starting over. At least I will have a chance to go through my notes and make sure the pattern makes sense before I distribute it. Writing patterns is hard, but you do what you have to do to compile a book. Still need to think of a theme for the book. Let me know if you have any ideas!

Anyway - here's a picture of the beginnings of a second chance!

Here's the thing......

I'm looking to expand my hand into the indie craft world and I need your help! Spread the word!!!!!

I'm willing to knit a beanie for anyone that will be part of a street team of sorts and promote noe hand knits - you get to pick 2 colors. The catch is is - you have to wear the beanie everyday! HA HA - just kidding! You don't have to wear it everyday - that would be awesome though........

You just have to spread the word that hand knitted things are cool and it's important to support independent artists and their craft.

The kit will include flyers, cards, pins, stickers and what ever is travel worthy to help you. And of course - the beanie.

If you don't want to wear a beanie - give me suggestions on something I can knit that you can have on your person when you're out promoting!

So let me know if you want to take part!

Thanks

Back to the grind......

So summer's over..... and it's back to real life and knitting. I had a really good summer and it ended with a cruise to Catalina and Ensenada and a trip to Vermont - which, by the way, is gorgeous.

So time to pick up the needles and get to work on those fall and winter projects! I have a huge list and need to start ASAP!

Still trucking along.....

I finally have a day off (sort of) to get some knitting done. I don't know where to start! I still have to figure out projects for the holidays and set up my sewing station - need to find a sewing table or sturdy desk. AHHHH!!!! So many things, so little time. Meanwhile - Extreme Boot Camp is kicking my butt into shape and leaving me wiped out. It's all going to be worth it when I go on the cruise. Speaking of which - need to finish a few projects for the cruise. No more dilly-dallying.....

Summertime and the knitting is ......

So living in California and being a knitter during the summer is tough. I'm trying to get my fall and winter knitting done and it's way to hot to even look at the projects, let alone physically knit them. What is a knitter to do?

Here's a list of projects I'm working on:
- Wild Max Sweater (due date: Oct 2009 for Movie Premier of Where the Wild Things Are) - it's almost done, just need to figure out the hood situation.
- Oceane Shawl (due date: Aug 29 for cruise to Cabo)
- Owls Sweater for mom (due date: Christmas 2009)
- Holiday mug cozies for, well ..... the holidays
- Miss February Sweater - I'm almost done with it and have realized that I don't like it at all - so I'm going to frog it and do something else. It's a sensitive subject for me - so it's hanging out until I feel comfortable enough to touch it again.
- Abstract Sweater (due date: when I can get to it and buy the rest of the yarn - there's like 12 different yarns going into this sweater)
- A new sweater for dad (due date: ha ha funny.... considering that I have to design the sweater from scratch, it might take a while.
- A sweater for Morgan (due date: when he's put a ring on my finger!) - until then it's just beanies, which he loves, but he really wants a sweater.
- A scarf of some fabulous design (due date: I still have to figure out what this fabulous design will be)

So I've got my basket full of projects and the weather's not getting any cooler. Maybe I should encircle myself with fans (going full blast) and sit in the middle with my knitting. Now if only I can steal all the fans in my parents' house without them knowing......
