Another year comes to an end....

Even though 2010 is coming to an end, the knitting must go on! It has been a busy year with lots of projects. The coming year will be filled with lots of hand knitted happiness. I'm taking on a few fundraising projects to help raise money for my Tanzania trip in November. (You can check out the blog)

So check back for updates and pictures! I need to be more diligent about posting....

Two things....

It's been a while since I've updated my blog. I have been doing quite a bit of knitting. Mostly just finishing other people's projects. But I also have been doing a bit of pattern writing. I'm trying to get some pattern support for my friend Nicholle. She's been dying and spinning her own yarn and they look awesome. We're going to be at a few functions this summer. Pictures to come....

The second thing - I'm boycotting Teavana. Long story short: I was applying for a job there and they strung me along and decided to hire someone else. They did not tell me, even after I sent several emails inquiring about my employment status. I am very disappointed by their lack of communication and find them unprofessional. It's a shame really.... They have good tea and all the teas are gluten-free. My sister has dubbed the boycott "The Costa Mesa Tea Party". Catchy.....

In the meantime, I will be looking for other opportunities..... Wish me luck!

In the spirit of the Olympic Games!

I don't think that I've watched as many Olympic events as I have during these Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I watched skiing, snowboarding, luge, skeleton, skating, some dancing..... I even watched curling. What an amazing sport. e

So in the spirit of the winter Olympics, I designed a beanie that is worthy of fans of Julia Mancuso, or Julia herself. I am going to make another one and send it to her (when I find out how tho do that), then I'm going to write out the pattern and make it available on etsy and ravelry. Keep an eye out for it!

P.S. - The 2010 beanie project fizzled out, but not all is lost. I'm still doing a massive amount of knitting.
